Day Three – Around Mzansi, Botswana & Namibia in 10 days
DAY THREE OF THE ROAD TRIP
After spending a short amount of time at the Trans Kalahari border having our passports stamped, we officially entered Namibia, and it felt as though the weather and the very air around us had changed.
There was a certain shift in the atmosphere as we left Botswana behind and ventured into the vast and rugged beauty of this new country. The landscape transformed before our eyes, with rolling hills and endless shrubs growing as far as the eye can see.
The sky seemed bigger, the air drier, and the sense of adventure palpable. Driving past Gobabis, a small rural town in eastern Namibia, we were struck by its neat and clean appearance.
The town was bustling with activity, yet it exuded a sense of tranquility and orderliness. The streets were lined with charming shops and colorful buildings, and the locals went about their business with a friendly smile and a wave.
As we continued our journey towards Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, the landscape unfolded before us like a painting come to life.
The road stretched out endlessly before us, leading us towards our next destination. Arriving in Windhoek, we made our way to the Dalarize Lodge, our chosen accommodation for the night.
We shared stories of our journey through Botswana and Namibia, recounting the sights and experiences that had left an indelible mark on us. The camaraderie among our group deepened as we laughed, ate, and savored the moment.
After dinner, we decided to take a leisurely stroll around the lodge grounds, enjoying the cool evening breeze and the peaceful ambiance of the night. The stars twinkled overhead, casting a soft glow over the landscape and creating a sense of wonder and awe.
We breathed in the fresh desert air, feeling grateful for the opportunity to explore this beautiful country and connect with nature in such a profound way. As we retired to our rooms for the night, a feeling of contentment settled over us.
The day’s adventures had been full of excitement and discovery, and we were grateful for the chance to rest and recharge in the comfort of the Delarize Lodge.
The night passed in peaceful slumber, with the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of crickets lulling us into a deep and restful sleep.
The next morning, we awoke to the soft glow of a new day dawning over Windhoek. The city was bathed in the early morning light, with the sun casting long shadows and painting the sky in shades of pink and orange.
Reluctantly, we gathered our belongings and prepared to hit the road once more, knowing that new adventures awaited us on the horizon.
The vast and untamed beauty of the landscape, the warmth of the people we had met along the way, and the sense of camaraderie and adventure shared among our group – all of these experiences had left an indelible mark on us, shaping our journey in ways we could never have imagined.
As we continued on our road trip through Namibia, we knew that the road would lead us to even more incredible destinations and unforgettable experiences.
But for now, we were grateful for the peaceful sanctuary of the Dalarize Lodge, the warmth of the hospitality we had experienced, and the chance to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of this remarkable country
