I hate being a spoil sport. But I am not exactly taken or going gaga over the so-called “sensational” fourth round stoppage victory by South African Kevin Lerena over German Artur Mann at the Emperors Palace on Saturday night. Yes my hommie Lerena is an exceptionally talented lad. And for a big man like him he...
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has in place an insurance policy that pays out deceased or permanently injured players. But I think the time has come for the policy to be revised as it is deeply skewed against players it is supposed to benefit. Richard Henyekane, Cecil Lolo and Senzo Meyiwa tragically passed away in road...
It came as a bitter shock to millions of South Africans when the Confederation of African Football took a decision considered by many as a snub to South Africa and awarded Egypt the rights to host the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Dakar last week. It was a bitter pill for me to swallow, especially...
Ahmad Ahmad: Bonjour Danny. I hope irrespective of the challenges that we face daily in our lives; you and the family are well. Things are really bad man. And I know we are currently not the best of buddies but, I really need your help. Danny Jordaan: Hello Ahmad. Calm down and tell me what’s...

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has been under siege from their critics during the last couple of weeks as they astonishingly hobble from one blunder to another on an almost daily basis. Equatorial Guinea flaunted all the rules governing fair play in football with impunity, cheating, falsifying documents and fraudulently issuing passports to women players...
OPEN LETTER TO FIFA PRESIDENT INFANTINO Dear Gianni Infantino It has come to my attention that FIFA recently handed former Zambian FA President Kalusha Bwalya a two year banning order for allegedly violating the FIFA Code of Ethics by accepting what they claim were illegal payments totalling US$80 000 from disgraced former Asian Football Confederation boss Bin...
I’m sniffing and sneezing like crazy, feeling extremely hot but miserable under additional blankets the Government of my household has removed from where she had packed them at the beginning of September, just to cover me and make me feel warmer. But I’m not feeling any better or warmer; I’m just feeling hot and sweating. She...
The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) - Ahmad Ahmad - came out this week to assure Cameroon that the Central African country would host the 2019 African Nations Cup tournament as agreed. But somehow, I am not convinced. It is not that he speaks in a forked tongue, but I listened to his...
Let’s admit it, we are quite frankly, miles behind the rest of the world when it comes to development, technical ability, tactical discipline and awareness as well as physical prowess and if you still dream that Africa will win the World Cup in our lifetime, then dream on. I humbly accept and respect Edson Arantes do...
